Expected May weather: The last month of Autumn can be a mixed but interesting bag. Early May is a great chance to make the most of the last of the Autumn colours and when weather may be most settled. Winter temperatures start to rear their head toward the end of the month and with that the potential for random snowfalls or rain systems. Days are getting much shorter and Queenstown township loses the sun even earlier as the sun is low in the sky and disappears behind the mountains, leaving chilly afternoons and evenings.
