Expected August weather: August is another reliable winter wedding month with lots of snow everywhere. Temperatures are not surprisingly still cold (think 1 or 2 degrees or even below zero temps) frosty and icy. Days are still short but the change is happening. The sun is still low in the sky with lots of soft, flattering light to go around. There won’t be as many waterfalls at Earnslaw Burn as everything freezes, although it’s still awe-inspiring. The small alpine lakes like Lake Isobel, Lake Hope and Lake Erskine will be frozen. A thaw is usually starting by the end of the month and snow will start disappearing at lower levels.
