Expected April weather: April in Queenstown is beautiful time of year (and our favourite!) By April Autumn has properly kicked in. The light is soft and golden and the region turns shades of yellow, red and orange as the trees change colour. Morning temperatures are generally cold with some frosty starts. Beautiful, still days are common and daytime temperatures can be cool and crisp.
Daylight saving starts in early April pushing the clocks back one hour. Earnslaw Burn waterfalls are still flowing with run-off from the glacier and alpine lakes melted. Snow is possible on higher peaks.
1st April Sunrise 8am / Sunset 7.30pm approx (Daylight savings starts 3rd April in 2022)
