Sunshine is Scott & Melissa
We are a husband-and-wife, Aussie-and-Kiwi team who have been planning, shooting, and perfecting intimate elopements in Queenstown for nearly 15 years across nearly 1,000 weddings. As an experienced, long-standing elopement team in Queenstown, we craft stress-free alpine adventures.
We’re not young hipsters or coffee snobs and if Scott still had a beard it would have some silver fox vibes. Over the years we’ve done plenty of interesting things and now have a 14 year old who we hope does not do some of those things. She’s somehow turned out to be way more interesting and cooler than both of us and is pretty handy with a camera too (that’s her in the pic above). We have three small scruffy dogs, still like each other quite a bit (even after 17 years of marriage) and love what we do, so life is good.
Scott (The Camera Geek & Photographer)
Scott is a self-confessed camera geek whose visual career began as an aerial camera operator and skydiver before transitioning into award-winning wedding videography and stunning mountain photography via helicopter. His style is relaxed, fun and free of stiff awkward poses.
Melissa (The Logistics Genius & Editor)
Melissa handles behind-the-scenes magic, emails, schedules, and photo-production. She is also a qualified artist and designer who runs our local design store and gallery, which doubles as the Sunshine Weddings office.

We work exclusively with a trusted, hand-selected group of local Queenstown vendors—from celebrants to florists—ensuring you know your exact team from start to finish. We have permissions to land everywhere from remote alpine lakes like Lochnagar or Lake Isobel, iconic spots like Cecil Peak and Coromandel Peak or secret, untouched landings that are off-the-beated path, so you know you’ll land at the best locations the Southern Alps has to offer.
