When Kaylah and William’s elopement day was forecast for rain, we offered to shift the date but knew the vibe would suit. They didn’t hesitate and were more than keen to rock it, whatever happened. All of their favourite reference images were grey, moody, and dramatic and the Queenstown skies delivered in full.
A First Look at a Historic Stone Cottage
The morning began at their Airbnb — a beautiful historic stone cottage on the outskirts of Queenstown. When William saw Kaylah for the first time, it was everything a first look should be — quiet, private, completely theirs with textures of crumbling stone and the wild mountain surrounds. Scott spent time capturing portraits around the cottage before the real adventure began.
Helicopter to Round Hill
From Queenstown, Scott directed the helicopter pilot to head to Round Hill — one of our favourite locations in the region, and one that absolutely rewards couples willing to embrace the elements. Where the light did what moody Queenstown light does best: it turned everything cinematic.
