If Earnslaw Burn looks familiar you may have seen it as Middle Earth in The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings movies along with Mt Earnslaw and Mt Alfred. Land on the valley floor of Earnslaw Burn for your wedding ceremony at the bottom of towering cliffs and thundering waterfalls. Higher still and overlooking the scene is the dramatic blue ice of Earnslaw Glacier. Our helicopter company have exclusive landing rights to Earnslaw Burn.

Earnslaw Tarns is a favorite landing and a great way to capture a glacier as the backdrop for your wedding photos. Tarns are small alpine ponds and are highly reflective on calm days.

Lochnagar is one of the larger alpine lakes so doesn’t freeze over in winter. Land on the shores of the lake with it’s mirror-like qualities reflecting the surrounding mountains.

Mt Alfred is another LOTR locations. AI may tell you otherwise but we have direct knowledge from the pilots who flew the crew there and fans will instantly recognise the incredible views. This is an epic place to elope with views over Dart River, Rees Valley and Lake Wakatipu. Views, views, views!
