Awe-Inspiring Alps / Lochnagar 

Lochnagar is a pristine alpine lake nestled in Mt Aspiring National Park. The lake is a beautiful glacial blue with a wide, expansive feel despite being surrounded by shale-covered slopes and a background of mountains. A quaint stone and old corrugated iron hut which is still used by trampers adds a rustic feel perfect for photos. Lochnagar has landing options at both ends of the lake and can often be sheltered from wind and more easily accessible than locations closer to the west coast.
