Close to Queenstown – Double Cone 

The Remarkables are the iconic mountain range which looms above Queenstown and Lake Wakatipu. Located on the south-eastern shore of the lake they rise up sharply to create a dramatic backdrop.

Double Cone is the highest point of The Remarkables ranges at approximately 7600 ft with the landing location just beneath. In winter it looks it’s best as it will most likely be in snow. In summer the terrain is very rocky and can be difficult to walk around. It’s not always possible to land at Double Cone as it is very dependent on wind conditions and cloud level. However, this makes it an extra special landing and with expansive views across Lake Wakatipu and the surrounding mountains it has a real sense of being on top of the world.
